BBA Shipping is a management education course that focuses on the shipping sector. The course covers general management and business administration lessons. Apart from that, the course also covers aspects of shipping, such as – liner trade, port operations and charting, customs procedure, transportation and distribution management
10+2 passed (any stream)
It is an undergraduate level Bachelor’s Degree course. It is a business administration course that focuses on the needs of shipping industry. It trains students and makes them knowledgeable about shipping and logistics sector.
Management lessons, administration techniques, shipping and customs law, basics of liner trade etc are some of the important topics covered under this course. In short, this course has been designed to cater to the needs of shipping and logistics sector. The course churns out dynamic professionals who can take on administrative and managerial roles in the above mentioned sectors.
The course is 3 years long. In cases of most of the institutes offering this course, the academic program is divided into 6 semesters, where each semester lasts for a period of 6 months.
10+2 passed (any stream) or equivalent from a recognized board is the minimum qualification required. Minimum aggregate marks criteria (in board exam) may exist in cases of reputed institutes (usually around 45-55% marks in board exam).
Reputed institutes are known to follow merit based admission process. Under this scheme, deserving candidates are selected after written or aptitude test. Admission process may vary from one institute to another!
